San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews had openly stated that he needs to up his game this year, and stay on the field which has particularly been his problem. Now it appears he is off to a rough start to that.
One of A.J. Smith's blunders that remains on the team, Mathews was apparently arrested after allegedly punching a man and knocking him outside of a Gaslamp Quarter Nightclub. It's eerily reminiscent of Browns rookie Ausar Walcott who punched a man into coma and was charged with attempted murder. Mathews and another man were approached by 5 males on a smoking deck and apparently words were exchanged about a female before the fight. Mathews and all other men involved were described as 'intoxicated.' Above is a picture from earlier in the day of him at Intervention a pool party in San Diego.
No word yet on how his clavicle came out of the mess.
Update: Conflicting reports as to whether Ryan Mathews was actually arrested or not.
