Matt Russell Exec Denver Broncos
All the executives around the league are pushing refresh on the NFL news wire making sure that none of there players didn't fuck up the night before while they were drunk, high, and or murdering people. Little did John Elway or owner Pat Bowlen know they'd see someone up in his ranks in the news.
Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell, a former NFL linebacker himself, was arrested and charged with DUI, having an open container, careless driving resulting in an injury, and failure to display proof of insurance. He hit a car with his car while drunk, and well he really didn't have a way to sneak away from that considering he hit a fucking police car. Russell had apparently hit a car earlier in the night and exchanged information with the driver, and the other driver had called police realizing that he was drunk.
Russell released a statement today stating;
"I deeply regret the poor judgment I demonstrated that resulted in my arrest over the weekend, I apologize to the Denver Broncos, our fans and the National Football League for this inexcusable mistake. I'm ashamed that I represented this region and the Broncos organization in the manner that I did. I take complete responsibility for my actions and will be fully accountable. Going forward, I will take steps to ensure this never happens again."
Russell was an All-American at Colorado and was drafted by the Lions in the 4th round of the 1997 NFL Draft. Knee injuries ended his career after one season.
