One man not choosing the Texans is Dan Shaughnessy, a Boston Globe writer and turd overall. In his column entitled; "Texans Matchup Just What The Patriots Wanted" he states the following:
The 2012-13 New England Patriots just became the first team in NFL history to get back-to-back byes before advancing to the conference championship game.
Could this get any easier? I mean, seriously? The planets are aligned and the tomato cans are in place. The fraudulent Houston Texans are the only team standing between the New England Patriots and a trip to the AFC Championship game.
All the Patriots have to do is beat the terrible Texans. One week from Sunday. At Gillette Stadium.
Pass Go and collect $200. The Patriots are in the AFC title game.
Many teams are used to getting bulletin board material from players talking about upcoming games, but I suppose this will do just fine for the Texans. It's already catching the attention of Texans players, most notably running back Arian Foster taking a screen shot and setting it as his twitter avatar for the game.
Was Matt Schaub completely at fault for the late season collapse? Not entirely. This season he had 22 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while throwing for over 4,000 yards. Not too bad for a quarterback that plays on a run first offense. However in the 3 late season losses (albeit against three playoff teams - the New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, and Indianapolis Colts) he completed 61% of his passes for 0 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Play like that won't help you get to the Super Bowl.
Regardless, we get to look at Matt Schaub creeping and his inability to keep his eyes open - and we get to see this weekend whether the Texans or the Patriots will be one win away from the Super Bowl. If only he was drinking Jack Daniels instead of Patron he could go to WearYourBeer.com for Jack Daniels merchandise.
