Riley Sheahan was drafted in the first round, #21 overall, of the 2010 NHL draft by the Detroit Redwings, and he currently plays for the Grand Rapids Griffins. On top of that, he likes to get ridiculously, ridiculously wasted as told by his arrest in October.
Sheahan was pulled over on October 29th going the wrong way down a street in Michigan while wearing a purple Teletubby costume. Sheahan failed numerous sobriety tests, which I can assume are hard in a Telletuby costume and refused a breathalyzer. When taken downtown he accepted a breathalyzer and blew a .30, a staggering almost 4 times the legal limit. Police initally thought they had arrested teammate Brendan Smith, 23, as Sheahan had his ID but police later found his real Canadian ID. Police asked him if he had it so that he could get into the bars and he said yes. He was charged with the states new 'super-drunk' driving while intoxicated charge, and providing false information. You get a 'super-drunk' charge if you're BAC is over .17 in Michigan, which he nearly doubled. Which I would assume leads to the charge of 'super-super-drunk' driving while intoxicated.
Sheahan, 20, has 3 goals and 2 assists in 15 games played for the Griffins this season.
Update: There is now video of Sheahan getting arrested in his Telletubby costume.
