Despite the star power now on the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team couldn’t put it all together in time to qualify for the 2012 MLB playoffs. One of their reasons for struggling was that last year’s NL MVP runner-up Matt Kemp was dealing with some type of injury most of the season. Shortly after the end of the season, he had surgery on his rotator cuff and shoulder.
After a couple days of rest, Kemp seems to already be back in good spirits. He was seen at Supperclub in Hollywood Tuesday night, hitting the club and having a good time with friend and fellow outfielder Torii Hunter.
Kemp has been in and out of the party scene in Los Angeles ever since making his debut in Dodger Blue. Many cited his relationship with Rihanna as the main reason he took steps back in 2010. After a great 2011 season and start to 2012, the Dodgers have him penciled in as an integral part of their team for the foreseeable future.
Having an abundance of off time in Los Angeles can be damaging for any athlete with a ton of money. Having your recently operated on arm out in a club atmosphere is probably not the best way to handle properly treating it either.
Kemp is expected to make a full recovery in time for Spring Training 2013. The Dodgers hope that Kemp can continue to make headlines starting next season on field instead of off it.
