Michael Turner RB Atlanta Falcons
Just hours after the Atlanta Falcons beat Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, running back Michael Turner had reason to celebrate. However, it appears he may have taken the celebration a little too far.
After a record length of time since the last arrest (it has been over a month since Chad Johnson got arrested for headbutting his wife) Turner was arrested and charged with DUI.
Turner was pulled over for driving his vehicle 97 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone by police. No other details have been released at this moment.
Turner ran for 42 yards and a touchdown on Monday night, his Falcons record 51st touchdown. He averaged just 2.5 carries for the game though.
Update: The officer pulled Turner over in his black Audi R8, and when he went to the window of the vehicle Turner identified himself. The officer smelled alcohol on him, and 'conducted a DUI investigation. Reliable new source TMZ states that Turner refused a breathalyzer. Will update with more details.
Update: Finally details are available regarding Turner's arrest. Turner initially told police that he hadn't been drinking after he got pulled over, but later admitted to police that he took 5 shots at a Magic City strip club. He told police they were 'normal' shots but were in cups instead of shot glasses. Police noted that they smelled alcohol, but said that he didn't have trouble speaking or walking. He failed the horizontal gaze test however. He ultimately blew a .109 on the breathalyzer, which must finally show that TMZ is no longer a reliable news source. Damn it TMZ, I trusted you!
