Sidney Rice was a Pro Bowler in 2009 with the Minnesota Vikings, gaining 1,312 yards and scoring 8 touchdowns. Since then, it's all been downhill for Rice. He suffered a hip injury in the NFC Championship game that was thrown away by Brett Favre, and delayed surgery in the offseason. After surgery he began the season on the PUP list, only to play 6 games before missing the season finale with a concussion.
After the lockout he signed a $41 million dollar contract with the Seattle Seahawks, but his 2011 season was cut short again. He was placed on injured reserve in November for another concussion after only playing in 9 games. Then in January of this year, he had offseason shoulder surgery on both shoulders.
Now the Seahawks are bringing in every has been wide receiver in the league, signing Antonio Bryant (who was released a little over a week later), Terrell Owens, and Braylon Edwards. Now it's coming out that he may not be available for the start of the season once again.
At least he didn't let the surgeries affect his drinking arm, gotta keep going strong in the offseason.
