Rams first round pick in 2011, defensive end Robert Quinn, was supposed to shore up the defensive line, and recorded 5 sacks his rookie season. Now, he joins 25 other NFL players in getting off field transgressions this offseason.
On July 10th Quinn was arrested on charges of DUI, as well as 2 other traffic violations. He was released on bond later that night. No other details have been released as of yet. More to come.
Quinn becomes the 12th NFL player arrested for DUI in 2012.
Update: In addition to the DWI charges, Quinn was also charged with charged with failure to exercise a high degree of care and having no insurance. It is also known now that he was arrested at 6:44 A.M. and pulled over on interstate 270, no reason for pulling him over has been released. The mugshot which has just been released can be seen above.
In addition to that, the St. Louis Rams released a statement that is basically the same statement every team releases after an arrest:
"The Rams and the NFL office are aware of the situation regarding Robert Quinn. We take such matters very seriously, and we will act accordingly once the legal process plays out."Update: More details have been released. Quinn was involved in a single car accident at around 5:38 A.M. on an exit ramp of interstate 270. Police say they determined he was intoxicated and he was cooperative with police.
