James Sims is the Kansas Jayhawks leading rusher the past two seasons, running for over 700 yards and scoring 9 touchdowns each of them. This year Charlie Weis has already suspended him for the first 3 games of the upcoming season due to his arrest this past weekend.
Sims was pulled over and arrested early Sunday morning and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. He was released on a $500 bond. No details including why he was initally pulled over were released.
New coach Weis is probably setting an example of Sims, as a 3 game suspension is pretty severe comparably for the charge. That is unless he knows something that wasn't released. Sims will miss games against Rice, TCU, and South Dakota State.
