Cristhian Martinez P Atlanta Braves

Atlanta Braves pitcher Cristhian Martinez earned a spot in the bullpen after a good spring of relief pitching, giving up only 2 runs with 13 strikeouts and 3 walks in 13 innings of work. Following his arrest this morning, Manager Fredi Gonzalez will make sure that "He’ll get an earful tomorrow"

Martinez was pulled over by police at around 2:45 A.M. for driving at a low rate of speed and failing to maintain one lane of traffic. He was traveling at just 40 MPH on the interstate. Officers smelled alcohol on him, administered a field sobriety test, and gave him a breathalyzer which read a .13. He was released from jail on bond at around 11:00 A.M.

Martinez, 30, boasts a career 2-4 record with 98 strikeouts after being signed as an international free agent by the Detroit Tigers in 2003.
