Charles Rogers WR Ex-Detroit Lions
NFL Draft busts are getting busted around the States this week, so you may want to put Jamarcus Russell on watch.
Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Charles Rogers recently had warrants issued for his arrest on 5 misdemeanors from 2 separate incidents. One of the incidents was from December of 2011 when he was pulled over and found with an open container of alcohol at around 1 A.M. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and was driving on a suspended license. Mugshot above is from this arrest.
On a completely unrelated incident, Rogers was charged with making a malicious phone call and conspiring to commit a crime. No details regarding that arrest are available.
Rogers was suspended in his last season of playing in the NFL, 2005, for failing a drug test which ultimately led to him losing a large chunk of his signing bonus. After that it came out that he failed a drug test every year he was at Michigan State en route to winning the Biletnikoff award and being the #2 overall draft pick.
On top of that, he was arrested in 2008 for assault and battery on a female acquaintance. Later he was arrested again for violating the probation of that incident. In September of 2009 he was arrested again for DUI while passed out behind the wheel of his car, and again in 2010 for being passed out drunk in a restaurant. That violated his sobriety order and he was sentenced to 93 days in jail.
