Sean Progar DE, Anthony Johnson WR Northern Illinois

NIU will be without defensive end Sean Progar and wide receiver Anthony Johnson for the teams bowl against Arkansas State following their arrests in early December.

Following the teams victory that lead the their first MAC championship since 1983 on December 4th, Progar was pulled over and charged with DUI near his residence on campus. Progar was pulled over at around 3:15 AM for improper lane use. Officers noticed Progar had glassy, bloodshot eyes and he smelled strongly of alcohol. He then failed sobriety tests before being arrested. In the end he was charged with DUI, having an expired license, and improper lane use. Johnson was charged with underage consumption of alcohol, though it's not known if the incidents were together.
Unlike Nebraska's head coach Bo Pelini who is allowing his center Mike Caputo to play following his DUI arrest, NIU head coach Dave Doeren has suspended the two players.
Johnson is a back up with 13 catches on the season, while Progar leads the team in sacks weith 5.5.
