Colin Ferring RB Coe College
Here at Shot of Ginn we rarely delve into the world of non-BCS football, but when a story arises that is crazy enough, I guess it should be shared.
Coe College freshman running back Colin Ferring must have decided to start drinking a little early on Saturday the 1st to attempt to do something as stupid as he did. Ferring and 4 other accomplices stole a John Deere Gator near the Coe College campus. When police made the "traffic" stop, Ferring took off. After a short chase and a little bit of resisting arrest, the police subdued Ferring with a taser. He was ultimately charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age, public intoxication and interference with official acts. Investigators are still trying to work out if he will be charged with theft for the incident.
On one hand, it's probably the reason he can't outrun some campus police that he plays division III ball. On the other hand, if it takes a taser to bring him down I'm sure he can shake off a few defenders.
Coe College brought the football world current Buffalo Bills starting RB Fred Jackson, as well as Hall of Fame General Manager/Coach Marv Levy and Fox NFL Sunday host Curt Menefee.
