Steve Weatherford P New York Giants
When Giants rookie punter Matt Dodge punted to DeSean Jackson last year, allowing him to return it back for a touchdown in the final seconds of the game, head coach Tom Coughlin just about blew a gasket yelling at him on the sidelines which allegedly caused Matt Dodge to cry.
I don't even want to know how many tears were shed, or how many shoulders were cried upon when he heard that Coughlin and the Giants signed him a competitor in Steve Weatherford.
Or how many more were shed when Weatherford won the job as Matt Dodge was cut today by the Giants.
Weatherford, a former undrafted free agent out of Illinois, has played for the New Orleans Sains, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, and now his new home the New York Giants. Last year with the Jets he tied the NFL record for most punts placed inside the 20 within a season at 42.
