Cooper Kearns OL Kansas

Cooper Kearns, a 18 year old freshman offensive lineman for KU walked on to the squad and is currently redshirting for the season. So since he's not traveling with the team, no need to not get rowdy I'd bet. However, that may have landed him in hot water with the team and law enforcement.

According to KUSports.com, this is how it all transpired:

Sgt. Matt Sarna, a Lawrence police spokesman, said Kerns was accused of striking a Lawrence officer in the face with his arm after he pulled away from the officer who was attempting to arrest him. Sarna said the officer minutes earlier observed Kerns urinating in the alley in the 1300 block of Ohio Street and that Kerns did not produce any identification when asked. After a brief foot chase, Kerns was taken in to custody and found to be in possession of a driver’s license that did not belong to him, Sarna said. The officer did not require any medical attention.

So the charges are up in the air, as is his status with the team, but no more details have been released regarding the arrest to date. Don't tell me that that picture above doesn't tell you he enjoys to knock back a few every once in a while.
