Ben Wallace C Detroit Pistons
Editors Note: I know, I know -- I'm late to the party... I've had a busy day....
Detroit Pistons power forward/center Ben Wallace, a former four time NBA Defensive player of the year, and former four time All-Star (emphasis on the word former) was arrested on multiple charges that could land him in jail for up to 5 years.
Wallace was pulled over at around 3:00 AM in Michigan for erratic driving on September 24th, and when the officer asked he claimed that he had had four beers in the past several hours at the club. When he was given a breathalyzer his BAC was .14 -- .06 over the .08 limit, and an ungodly amount over his free throw shooting percentage. The kicker of the incident, however, is after a search of the vehicle police found an unloaded pistol in a backup in the backseat. It was registered to a family member, and Wallace has since stated that he forgot his wife's gun was in the car. He claimed to have it in the car for protection in the past. Police also founded loaded magazine clips in the backpack.
With his court case coming up, things aren't looking too good. The judge of the case recently sent former NBA player Jalen Rose to jail for his DUI -- without a gun present.
