Ashante Williams LB Illinois

Yesterday it was reported that Fighting Illini LB Ashante Williams had been suspended indefinitely by Ron Zook, and is usually the case the unspecified rule was an arrest.

Williams was pulled over for a traffic violation when officers smelled alcohol on him at around 1:37 AM. According to the police report he failed sobriety tests and admitted to drinking alcohol, and at that point he was arrested for driving under the influence.

Williams played in 13 games last season as a defensive back, and was penciled in as a starter in this coming season replacing the graduated Nate Bussey.
