Zachary Gonosz S Kent State
Redshirt Sophomore Kent State Safety Zachary Gonosz was arrested early Sunday morning on charges underage drinking, displaying a fake I.D. and assault. The incident occurred around 2:45 AM in downtown Kent when Gonosz approached a cab and said that he had ridden in the cab the week prior, and then began an altercation with the passenger in the cab, Ronald Cassie. Cassie happens to be the owner of the cab company which he was riding in. Cassie refused to comment on the situation, but the cab driver Jeffrey Austin did, saying via KentWired:
"The dude really didn’t know what he was talking about, I think he was just a little bit too drunk, and he didn’t even know the guy’s name that he hit"
Gonosz plead not guilty to all of the charges pending on Monday, but was suspended indefinitely from the football team. He played in 10 games his freshman year in 2009, but took a redshirt due to injuries in 2010.
This isn't Gonosz first run in with the law at Kent State. Last May he was also arrested for underage drinking (Oops... Must have slipped past us...) but was referred to a pretrial diversion program and paid a small fine.
