Fernando Diaz OL Pitt
Former Pitt OL Fernando Diaz was there during spring training with the Pittsburgh Panthers as a redshirt freshman last year, and had plans of returning to the team this spring to give it a go after leaving the team in August. Well you can count that out.
A police crusier was on patrol when it was stopped by Diaz in the middle of the street yelling at someone in a parking lot. He refused to move, and when he saw the cop car he said, "What the fuck are you going to do, hit me?" Police got out of the car and Diaz started yelling while a crowd grew around the scene. A Pittsburgh team member came up and told him to shut his mouth and take the ticket, because the new head coach would make an example of him. Diaz refused to "shut his mouth", tried to walk away two times. The officer wrote him a citation for public intoxication, he refused to sign it, and said he wouldn't go to court.
He tried to walk away again and the 6'2 280 pound Diaz pulled away in an aggressive fashion. They got one handcuff on him before he started swing at the cops with closed fists, even with the one with the handcuff on it. They finally subdued him, but only after tasering him FOUR times.
In the end he was charged with public drunkenness, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, underage drinking and obstruction a highway.
