Eugene Lockhart LB Dallas Cowboys
Former 2 time All Pro LB Eugene Lockhart, who played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1984-1990, and with the New England Patriots from 1991-1992, has found himself behind bars again. He was first posted on Shot of Ginn for violating the terms of his release in a mortgage fraud case. He violated them by testing positive for cocaine. After being released again, he was told by the magistrate judge to report any arrests immediately.
Those words fell on deaf ears because Eugene Lockhart has been placed in handcuffs again for hiding an arrest from federal investigators.
At around 3:00 AM on October 10th police walked in on Lockhart and a 27 year old female accomplice in the backseat of his Caddilac Escalade in the parking lot of an empty building. Cops had a pretty good idea what he was doing back there, especially when he stepped out of the vehicle getting dressed hastily. Police say that he was intoxicated and claimed that he was "ministering" to her. He claims to have picked her up on the side of the road, and that she had just gotten out of a fight with her boyfriend. Lockhart was charged with public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor. The arrest was figured out during an automated records check. He initally denied being arrested, and then used the "Come on... It's barely a traffic ticket" defense.
Again, from the previous Lockhart post, the federal mortgage fraud case is when Lockhart and 9 others were accused of arranging mortgages by inflated prices to profit. The 10 were brought in by the FBI on charges of conspiracy, bank fraud, wire fraud, and other various charges. The scheme included 54 fraudulent property loan closings and $20.54 million in fraudulent loans. 5 have already plead guilty to charges.
