Charlie Peprah S Green Bay Packers
When Atari Bigby started on the PUP, and 3rd round pick Morgan Burnett went from starter to IR with a torn ACL, old Packer kick around Charlie Peprah (middle -- next to CB Jarrett Bush) found himself in the starting lineup again. To at least my surprise, he played very well. Packers General Manager must have thought the same things and inked him to a new 2 years deal today.
Peprah came into the league as a 5th round draft choice out of Alabama by the New York Giants in 2006, but was waived and claimed by the Packers in September. He stayed with the Packers until 2008, and after that he played in 2009 with the Atlanta Falcon's where he made 2 appearances on special teams. This year he became the starter and started for 11 weeks, but his biggest play may have been taking a bad angle on Patriots OL Dan Connolly's epic kick return.
The contract is only worth 2.3 million, which means he's likely headed to the bench again once Morgan Burnett returns from his injury. On his career he has 2 interceptions, all last year on the way to the Super Bowl, where he was a starter.
