James Montgomery RB Washington State

James Montgomery, Washington States leading rusher last season with 483 yards and 5 touchdowns, has had his eligibility run out. However, he has petitioned the NCAA for an extra year due to the fact he had a catastrophic leg injury that not only could have taken his leg -- it almost took his life. The hit against SMU caused Accute Compartment Syndrome in his leg, and waiting even an extra hour or so for surgery would have cost him his leg.

Now, his goal of a 6th season of eligibility may have taken a massive hit. Montgomery was arrested and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. No more details have been released yet. Montgomery joins CB Tracy Clark as recent Cougar arrestees, as he was arrested for the Masoli special -- a stolen laptop.
