Derrell Johnson-Koulianos WR Iowa

Iowa WR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos was just named first team All-Big 10 by the coaches just over a week ago, and now, he's got a whole mess of trouble to deal with. In the end, Johnson-Koulianos faces a whopping 7 charges, four counts of possession of controlled substances, two counts of unlawful possession of prescription drugs and one count of keeping a drug house. During a search Tuesday afternoon of Johnson-Koulianos roommate, police found cocaine, marijuana, prescription drugs (pamoate, diazepam, hydromorphone hydrochloride and zolpidem tartrate pills [none of which were prescribed to Johnson-Koulianos]), scales, $3,000 cash, and other items used in selling drugs. Cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and the prescription drugs (mostly painkillers) were found in Johnson-Koulianos room. Johnson-Koulianos also admitted to using marijuana less than a day before the arrest, and he took a urine test that showed that he had been using drugs. He also admitted to using cocaine and the prescription drugs, which he had acquired from friends.  He also had electronic media showing him in possession of drugs.

Presuming that this ends his Iowa career, which it likely will, Johnson-Koulianos is the all time leader for Iowa in receptions and receiving yards... and drug houses.

Mugshot Update: Mugshots are always nice to see. So here it is.

"Sorry Coach. What should I do? Should I admit that I made mistakes? Should I remind you that I've done this before? What should I do? Should I tell you how much fun we had? Should I really believe cocaine and weed ruined our relationship? What should I do? What should I do? What should I do? Should I just quit blow cold turkey? Or should I tell you: I AM NOT A ROLL MODEL? Seriously what should I do? Should I tell you I did it for the buzz? The women? the Money? Should I be who you want me to be? Should I accept my roll as the team druggie? What should I do? Maybe I should just... disappear... Should I stop getting drugs from my roommates? What should I do?"

  1. He looks pretty happy, is his dad a lawyer or friends with the DA or something?

  2. He did admit to just smoking weed, and using cocaine in the past. Probably just high.

  3. Which comes to an interesting point: I was arrested twice, both for underage drinking, both times I've had my picture taken at the station. It's a split second moment thought, "Smile, or look like a hardened criminal?"

I'm pretty sure I chose smile. Then again, I was wasted both times.
