Cannon Smith QB Memphis

Quarterback Cannon Smith, who started 2 games for Memphis before an injury benched him, was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Smith was arrested around 3:20 AM and booked at around 4AM after police were called to a disturbance involving Smith. He had refused to pay a cab fare, and when police questioned him he challenged them to a battle royal. He ended up paying the cab fare but refused to leave the area and began cursing and yelling at officers.

This isn't his first arrest, as the former U of Miami QB was arrested for possession of Extacy with the intent to distribute in 2006.

Cannon Smith just happens to be the son of FedEx's CEO, who is Memphis' biggest booster. What that means, of course, is that nothing will come of this arrest. He could probably commit a triple homicide and not get suspended from the team.
