Chris Ivory RB New Orleans Saints

Chris Ivory was signed as an undrafted free agent this season by the New Orleans Saints out of Tiffin, and due to injuries to starter Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas, he actually got some starts -- and is playing pretty well. Ivory started his college career at Washington State but was dismissed from the team in August of 2009, and that may have been because of an assault that he is now facing a felony charge of. Ivory, who rushed for 158 yards in the win last week on only 15 carries, and 277 this season (on 6.3 yards a carry) is facing a class B felony for intentionally hitting another student in the head with a bottle in July of 2009. The charge carries a 3-9 month jail sentence if convicted. Head Coach Sean Payton says that them -- and the NFL -- were fully aware of the incident and Ivory is working with his attorneys to get over the matter. Either that, or he doesn't mind having a bottle swinger instead of a Charles Grant who was indicted on charges of Involuntary manslaughter.
