Tanard Jackson S Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Tanard Jackson was suspended in August 2009 for testing positive for drugs and was suspended the first 4 games of the 2009 NFL season. Those were the only 4 games in his NFL career that he didn't start after being drafted in the 4th round in 2007. Now Tanard Jackson, after another violation of the NFL's policy on substance abuse, will be suspended indefinitely -- and is eligible for return September 22, 2011. This is what he said in last year regarding his suspension:

"I could sit here and go on forever as to how much I learned. The main thing is that this is what I love to do, this is what I'm blessed to do, I definitely felt I let my team down, I disappointed myself, but your actions affect others around you, and that's one thing that hit home."

THAT went far.

The Lindsay Lohan route: Tanard Jackson plans to enter rehab and finish his degree at Syracuse during his year suspension from the league in order to come back to the NFL. This was his third violation of the substance abuse policy, and even though its not required for him to enter, its probably not the worst idea, even if it doesn't work like Lohan's dozen or so trips, it'll look good in the eyes of the league to get him back in.
