Mike Williams WR Ex-Detroit Lions

It must be bust week here at Shot of Ginn, first Ryan Leaf, and now one of the Detroit Lions many busts, Mike Williams. He was a freshman All-American, and his sophomore year was a finalist for the Biletnikoff award, while finishing 8th in the Heisman voting. So what does every normal freak sophomore do? Try to challenge the NCAA to let him go to the NFL early. Him and Maurice Clarett shook hands and decided hey, if this doesn't all work out, lets just go fucking crazy! Well it didn't work out, the US Court of Appeals overturned Claretts ruling allowing him in the NFL draft, and since Williams had already filed the paperwork and signed with an agent, well he was F'd in the A as well.

Both had to sit out a year of football in order to get that ever important "third year" out of high school, and when they both were ready to work out for NFL scouts, they had different outcomes. Williams ran a 4.56 at 229 pounds, while standing a staggering 6 foot 5 inches tall. Clarett on the other hand, ran a 4.72 and 4.82.

Williams ended up being drafted #10 overall by the lowly Lions, and Clarett was surprisingly drafted at the end of the 3rd round, last pick of the first day. Both had very short NFL careers. Clarett didn't make it out of training camp, and Williams was traded with Josh McCown in 2007, 2 years after being drafted, to the Riaders for a 4th round selection. He was released after a game ending drop. He hit the Big Macs hard and signed with the Tennessee Titans as a Tight End, and was cut without playing a down.

What about Clarett's and Williams' pact to go fuck shit up after their NFL careers? Clarett followed suit, sitting in jail right now busted with AK's, 9's, bullet proof vest's, and a bottle of Grey Goose. Williams on the other hand, is starting a rap career, and is the CEO of Right Way Records.
