Matt Stafford QB Detroit Lions

As the new face of the franchise for a team that went 0-16 a year ago, Matt Stafford will try and help the Detroit Lions turn things around. Taken with the first overall selection in the NFL Draft, Matt Stafford was given a six-year, $78 million contract, with $41.7 million in guarantees. That is the largest guaranteed amount in the history of the NFL, and all for a guy who has not played a single snap yet. Aside from Calvin Johnson, the lions haven't had great luck in the first round of recent drafts, which puts even more pressure on Stafford. Only time will tell whether the Lions made the right pick, or whether they are doomed to fail for yet another decade.
