Donte Stallworth WR Cleveland Browns

Donte Stallworth was having a good time, I mean, the Browns didn't cut him before he got his roster bonus, a cool 4.85 million dollars. So why not go out and indulge a little bit? Well that got Stallworth in a little bit of trouble, and that is saying it as lightly as possible. He allegedly was driving home and struck a pedestrian, a 59 year old male, and killed him at approximately 7 o'clock in the morning. He told officers that he had stopped drinking at midnight that night. He told the officers that he was flashing his brights and honking his horn from down the block as he came up on the crosswalk where the pedestrian, Mario Reyes, was hit. Police gave him a sobriety test, which you can see in the video from the AP below, and took a blood test from him, which was supposed to be revealed later, and earlier this week it was.

Considering you burn one drink per hour out of your system, I doubt that Stallworth was done drinking at Midnight. DUI Manslaughter, which Stallworth will be charged with when the blood tests get confirmed, carries a maximum sentence of 15 years, and likely holds a mandatory minimum sentence. No charges have been filed as of now, but it will be interesting to see who gets that roster bonus money now, the Cleveland Browns or the family of Mario Reyes.
